Is a One-Page Squarespace Website Enough for Your Therapy Practice?
I just got off a discovery call with a therapist who had a great question—one I hear all the time.
She said, “I just can’t wrap my head around not having multiple pages… it just feels like that’s what a real website is supposed to have.”
And honestly? I get it.
We’ve all been conditioned to think that a “real” website = a homepage + about + services + contact + maybe a blog or two thrown in for good measure.
But here’s the thing most people don’t realize:
A one-page website is a real website.
It can be polished, comprehensive, strategic, and effective. And for a lot of therapists—especially those starting or reshaping their private practice—it’s exactly what they need.
Let’s talk about why.
What is a one-page website (and why it works for therapists)?
It’s not just a landing page with your name slapped on it.
It’s a thoughtfully designed, scrollable homepage that includes everything your ideal client needs to feel confident booking a consultation call. Usually in this order:
A clear, compelling intro that speaks to your client’s struggles
How you help, and what kind of therapy you offer
A mini about section to build trust
A breakdown of services and rates
A FAQ to cover licensing, insurance, and all the practicals
And one strong call to action (usually a big ol’ “Book a Consultation” button)
Behind the scenes, I also set up pages like your 404 error page, privacy policy, good faith estimate, and other legal necessities—but just to be clear, you’ll need to provide the actual content for those. I handle the layout and design; you handle the legal stuff (I usually recommend termsfeed.com if you need help creating one).
“Emily took the time to listen to my ideas and understand the message I wanted to convey. Her expertise and creativity quickly turned my scattered thoughts into a stunning reality.”
— Blanca Bradley
And that’s what makes it work so well.
Why this structure works better than you think
Most people would rather scroll than click.
When you break things up across six or seven pages, visitors have to do a lot more work to figure out whether you’re the right fit. They might miss something important, get distracted, or just… give up.
With a one-page website, you get to guide them. You’re telling a story—building trust, offering clarity, and giving them everything they need to confidently say yes.
And trust me, your future clients are so relieved when it’s easy.
They want to know:
Do you take insurance?
Can you help with their specific issue?
Are you licensed in their state?
What do you look like?
“Emily helped me shift to more conversational language while also giving potential clients a feel for what it’s like to work with me.”
— Gigi Woodall
If your site answers those questions clearly and compassionately, you’re already ahead of the game.
Who it’s actually perfect for
One-page websites work best for:
Therapists starting a new private practice
Clinicians who feel overwhelmed with their current website
Folks who want a professional, strategic web presence without hiring a whole team
Anyone who plans to grow and evolve—but needs to start somewhere solid
It’s not for everyone.
If you run a group practice, need separate pages for consulting, or already have strong SEO rankings across multiple pages… then yeah, we might need a different approach.
But for most of the therapists I work with, this structure is a perfect fit. It’s clean, clear, and leaves room to gr — Haleigh Culverhouseow.
“I feel like when people visit my website they are seeing me. My closest family and friends have said the same.”

Here’s the One-Page Website Package
“But can I just book a VIP Day instead?”
Ah yes—this comes up a lot.
My VIP Design Day is a great fit if you’ve already worked with me before, have a solid brand, and need a few specific tasks knocked out in one day. Things like adding a new service page, updating photos, designing a lead magnet, etc.
But it’s not the place to build a full website from scratch.
Trying to squeeze all the strategy, content, brand-building, and back-and-forth into six hours? It’s stressful. It’s rushed. It just doesn’t work well—especially if we’ve never worked together before.
My One-Page Website package is intentionally built as a week-long process so we can do it right. We start with a strategy call, review your content and brand inspiration, and build something that actually represents you. At the end of the project, we hop on a 90-minute training call where I walk you through how to update your site, make edits, and feel totally confident managing things on your own.
“Emily guided me through the entire process with ease. Her collaborative spirit allowed for a seamless flow of ideas, and her creative genius brought those ideas to life beautifully.”
— Carissa Lane
(And bonus: if you ever do want to expand, we’ve already laid the groundwork. That’s when the VIP Day becomes the perfect next step.)
